Spain

Spain, known officially as the Kingdom of Spain, is located in Southwestern Europe and has territories in North Africa. It boasts the southernmost point of continental Europe, making it the largest country in Southern Europe and the fourth most populous member of the European Union.

The country primarily occupies the Iberian Peninsula and also includes the Canary Islands in the eastern Atlantic Ocean, the Balearic Islands in the western Mediterranean Sea, and the autonomous cities of Ceuta and Melilla in Africa. To the north, Spain shares borders with France, Andorra, and the Bay of Biscay; to the east and south, it is flanked by the Mediterranean Sea and Gibraltar; and to the west, it borders Portugal and the Atlantic Ocean.

Madrid serves as the capital and largest city, while other significant cities include Barcelona, Valencia, Seville, Zaragoza, Málaga, Murcia, and Palma de Mallorca.
